How about the government cutting spending by 2 cents on every dollar? We the people are still waiting for some spending reductions from the last debt ceiling debate. It reminds me of Wimpy on the old Popeye show, I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a Hamburger today.

Cutting spending by 2 cents on every dollar wouldn't make that much of a difference when the government incurs a 40+ cent deficit on every dollar it spends. Put another way the government now spends about 70% more than it takes in.
