I also work in a school (Elementary) and totally agree that having a police officer or armed guard is a step in the right direction. These crazy shooters don't want a fight, they want to pick off easy victims. Our district is large enought that we have a police department and while we don't have enough officers for one at each school, their presence has increased since the shootings in CT. I also don't get the argument that some give about putting police in schools making children afraid. Police officers should make them feel safe, they should be taught from a young age that the police are there to serve and protect. Fortunately, I live in Texas and we are one of the states that is working on legislation to get staff members trained

and armed to protect themselves and the children they are entrusted with. As seen in Connecticut, most of us care about these children and want to be able to protect them. Unfortunately, the six staff members at Sandy Hook died trying to stop a crazy person with no protection available. Many of the people I work with are ready, willing and able to do what we need to do, all we need is for it to be legal for us to do so.

FedUp;
The BEST thing about arming the Teachers is that instead of a response time of a few seconds to a couple of minutes (depending on the location of the guard) the response time of an armed Teacher is-NOW! The difference in expense to the School District is VERY low,too. Utah already has over 200 Teachers on the volunteer list to be be trained,get their CCW's and protect their kids. There are many other States doing the same thing. (How do you suppose we'll be able to do this with the "New Gun Control Measures" O is trying to force into Law to eliminate the 2nd Amendment?

What do Al Hunt of Bloomberg News, David Gregory of “Meet the Press” and President Obama have in common -- besides their liberal politics?

They all send their kids to Sidwell Friends School.

With campuses in Washington, D.C. and Bethesda, Md., the highly selective private school is where the Clintons and the Gores sent their kids, along with Joe Biden’s grandchildren.

It’s also where the local 1 Percenters and the government-media elites who can afford to shell out about $32 grand a year send their children to be indoctrinated -- excuse me, educated -- and to be...
