I loved Ben Carson's speech and hope that he continues to give his common sense thoughts on our country's current situation. Political excommunication- from the liberals and their loyal media followers-who cares. He can come on over to our side. We are always looking for informed people, those able to solve problems and those who look to God and not the government to lead them through life.

Another advantage of the sales tax is that we could capture taxes on purchases by people who make their money illegally and don't currently pay income taxes but certainly spend their money.

What soccer moms and everyone else should be afraid of are the children, adolescents and twenty somethings who have been "raised" with psychotropic drugs instead of discipline and being nurtured and taught how to deal with lifes dissapointments and struggles (what used to be known as parenting). I work in an elementary school and am floored by the number of children who are medicated. While some of them may have a valid diagnosis, but many of them are just medicated because it is just easier. Parenting is not for sissies.

How about the government cutting spending by 2 cents on every dollar? We the people are still waiting for some spending reductions from the last debt ceiling debate. It reminds me of Wimpy on the old Popeye show, I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a Hamburger today.

Still an improvement over four more years o OBAMA. Too many "Republican" stayed home to make a statement on Romney. Sometimes cutting off your nose to spite your face is not the smartest move.

Unfortunately, the six staff members at Sandy Hook died trying to stop a crazy person with no protection available. Many of the people I work with are ready, willing and able to do what we need to do, all we need is for it to be legal for us to do so.

I also work in a school (Elementary) and totally agree that having a police officer or armed guard is a step in the right direction. These crazy shooters don't want a fight, they want to pick off easy victims. Our district is large enought that we have a police department and while we don't have enough officers for one at each school, their presence has increased since the shootings in CT. I also don't get the argument that some give about putting police in schools making children afraid. Police officers should make them feel safe, they should be taught from a young age that the police are there to serve and protect. Fortunately, I live in Texas and we are one of the states that is working on legislation to get staff members trained

AMEN. These prescription drugs are dangerous and are just another example of our "immediate gratification" society. Don't want to deal with your problems, take a pill. Don't want to cope with life's little dissappointments, take a pill. Don't want to discipline your children, give them a pill. I work in an elementary school and it is shocking the number of children who are taking these powerful psychotic medications. Many of these have not been tested, approved or recommended for use in children and their brains and bodies do not react to them the same way that adults do. I guess we know who has the stronger lobby, BIG PHARMA and the AMA, who just want to prescribe drugs that cause more problems and DON"T CURE ANYTHING

He is just reaping the bounty of seeds that have been planted 50+ years ago. If you want a real eye opener, watch a little documentary by C. Bowers "AGENDA, The Grinding Down of America". The destruction of Faith and Family (and both are constantly under attack) were the way to break this country from the inside.

I agree,NO MORE MODERATE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES. How about a moderate party that believes in work hard, do your part to contribute to society and "live and let live" on social issues? There are too many people in this country who cannot accept the hard left or hard right platforms. We are the "independents' who swing elections. I voted on issues I felt were most important to me and this country. I felt the Romney/Ryan ticket was the best choice in this election. Thanks to the 3 million conservatives who "stayed home" we now have 4 more years of Obama. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. Give yourself a big pat on the back.
