Why Did He Kill All Those Children?

I usually agree with many of your articles but have to part ways with you on this one. Blaming it on violent video games is just too simplistic when there are many other factors involved. The threshold level for violence, mayhem, and gore that today's young people not only find acceptable, but shrug off is one telling sign. I can remember covering my eyes when I tried to watch "The Exorcist," but that movie is pale in comparison to what is shown today (Saw and similar horrific fare) that provide no shock, repulsion, or disgust in today's youth. For more than 40 years we have learned there are no moral absolutes, life is not sacred, and "if it feels good.. do it." Parents also have a share of the blame here too.
As with any issue, there are many sides and also just as many possible solutions. In 1983, newly divorced with two children to support and few factory jobs available, I leaped into the old *promise* that a good education = a secure future. I graduated in 1989 and by 1997 I experienced no less than 5 layoffs, periods of unemployment, several moves (homeless at one point), and the loan went into default. Got a job at Walmart (cashier) and paid my loan for the 10 years I was there. I have paid back almost $17,000. but still owe $16,500. on that $12,000. loan. Frankly I'm tired and can't jog through quicksand anymore. Promise? No.. It's a Nightmare!! There is no light at the end of the loan tunnel... no wonder people just give up.

Very well put!! The only thing government today seems to be good at is "growth" .. at the expense of the people who have to feed the beast.

Seriously? You're basing your argument on the number of casualties as a reason for voting for Obama?? A war that was voted on and passed by a majority of both republicans and democrats, and called based on the latest intelligence the USA and Britain had. Compare that to an Ambassador, his Aid, and two Former Seals who were not only left to die because of the inaction of the WH, but then they tried to cover his A$$ for almost 14 days when he *knew* on 9/11/12 it was an act of terror. Likewise, the hiding of details from F&F with an Executive Privilege so the real truth never comes out??? The men and women who lost their lives in Iraq went to war out of duty to country and honor. The last 4 died because of Obama's lies & deceit.

Actual Obama Ad: "Your First Time"

I can only assume that Obama considers female voters as little more than walking twats who base their votes on issues that affect their "lady parts." Forget economics, national security, jobs, etc.. give us our birth control pills, pay for our abortions... Mr. President, as a woman and a voter, I find your tactics and this ad "Offensive."
Don't worry, he'll find some way to Blame Bush for this one too. He only has a few pat answers for the problems in the USA and the rest of the world.. "I inherited this" or "It's Bush's Fault." With as bad as this situation is, I'm guessing he'll pull out all the stops and use both. Betcha the leaders of Libya and Egypt that got thrown under the bus are saying.. "told ya so..." They might not have been great but they certainly kept the crazies at bay.
Parents who are forced, for whatever reason, to remain in a poor neighborhood, shouldn't be forced by law to send their children to failing and inadequate schools. The NEA has been fighting tirelessly against vouchers, charter schools, and teacher evaluations because they know they'll lose thousands of students from their failing institutions and another thousand teachers will have to hit the bricks or books in order to work. That alone should tell you exactly where their vested interest is.. and it certainly isn't with the children and what's best for their future. Shame on them.
John Stossel did an excellent documentary on the abuses of the system. He showed people cashing their monthly checks and using the cash to continue "feeding" their disability.. drug abuse, alcohol abuse, etc. The government was, in effect, enabling them to continue their self-destructive habits. As a grocery retail worker for 10 years, I saw first hand the severely obese customers load up their motorized carts with all manner of junk food, pay for them with food stamps, and then talk about their disability checks. "Uncle Sugar" kept them stocked up with the poison that put on those pounds. This is truly cases of "Killing them with Kindness" and the money would be better served to place these cases in treatment facilities instead.
I have been posting about David Horowitz's booklet titled "Breaking the System" (available in pdf format for download - just google it). He very clearly explains the Cloward-Piven strategy to "Break the System" and promote turmoil and revolution in this country. We are seeing it work out in the sharp increase of foodstamp users (promoted by this White House), sharp encrease in Disability Claims, overwhelming our electoral system, and causing sharp divisions between the races and classes. Obama is not an inept President.. this man knows exactly what he is doing and has been teaching this "strategy" to groups like ACORN for years. I fear for the future of my country and for my grandchildren...
I also voted for a Pro-Life Democrat who caved and thought less of his principals than he did for "party" favor. Like Stupak, he was also voted out in 2010.. I'm sure Charlie Wilson is sorry for his choices and vote too.. I can say to them both.. Actions have consequences... Just look how fast Obama tossed Specter under the bus.. what makes you think you were any different or more special? In true Alinsky fashion, the "ends" always justify the means. Clinton did it with his broken promises when pushing NAFTA.. Politics is like the world's oldest profession and unfortunately too many of these reps believe promises made at night that are broken by morning's light.
