Don't Blame Romney

Well Ann, you covered about all the excuses you could think up. Except this one - YOU! Romney was teflon for sure. Whatever mud 0bama threw at him slid off cleanly. And this was what you wanted. A clean candidate with effectively no skeletons in his closet. The problem, as we said from the start, was that Romney is very weak of true grit in the face of a very weak excuse for a POTUS. He was handed an Al Qaeda victory on a silver platter and he failed to take advantage of it. Being teflon has the unintended consequence of unwillingness to get down into the gutter with a POTUS who not only enjoys gutter politics, but sleazy Chicago-style gutter politics. No, Ann, you were dead wrong when you endorsed this candidate.

Every election predictor was wrong, except one: Incumbents usually win.

Republicans have taken out a sitting president only once in the last century, and that was in 1980 when Ronald Reagan beat Jimmy Carter. Sadly, Reagan's record remains secure.

The Democrats ran up against the incumbency problem in 2004. The landslide election for Democrats in 2006 suggests that Americans were not thrilled with...
