I thank God for Pope Benedict XVI...he has been a blessing. Let's keep him in prayer as he continues to decrease (to retire to his years of prayer and uniting himself to Christ) and our Lord continues to increase. As for concerns for the Church (One, Holy, Catholic, Apostlic), It is the Body of Christ and its main concern has always been salvation of souls, nothing less. Our culture has bought into slavery to sin, bondage to evil, and some of our Bishops have stood by or welcomed dissent, disorder, division when they so very much needed to shepherd the souls under their care. (continued)
"To govern the bark of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me."

With those brave, wise, simple words, Benedict XVI announced an end of his papacy. How stands the Church he has led for eight years?

While he could not match the charisma of his predecessor, John Paul II, his has been a successful papacy. He restored some of the ancient beauty and majesty...
