Stretching Stamps

Most food stampers are the dregs of society. For those that really need help, give them food, not a card they can use to buy garbage food, booze or food that many working people can't afford. And this would probably save tens of billions of MY money every year.

"Most food stampers are the dregs of society." How utterly satisfying it must be to be so certain about the moral and spiritual condition of so many people you don't know and will never meet. A person so superior and supernaturally omniscient as yourself should be running the world, not wasting yourself in your mom's basement. Why not come out and run in the clean sunshine as our next presidentiial candidate? After all, with your great knowledge, comes great responsibility.

Yes, ahole, you got it all correct except the part about mom's basement. I'm surprised the caretakers in your institution trust you with a keyboard. You can probably get on food stamps immediately if they ever let you out. BTW, don't be angry at me just because your whole family gets government freebees.

It would be difficult to expand the food stamp program (officially the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP) much further.

Between 2008 and 2010, the number of able-bodied people getting food stamps doubled, after the Obama administration lifted work requirements. One in seven Americans is on food stamps, which cost the federal government some $84.6 billion in 2011. One way to help SNAP recipients without spending more would be to teach them to stretch their dollars.

That’s where Stephanie Nelson, The Coupon Mom, comes in. She started her business years ago as a way to help others save money...
