FDR was wholly responsible for the lost decade, and Americans still think he was a great president? Obama is now set to repeat that disaster and the Democrats think that throwing millions out of work is the work of genius. What boggles the mind is that many people still think of Obama as being the smartest person in the room. If I understand the situation, he uses a teleprompter for everything, including addressing a class of kindergarten kids, he has no record of accomplishment in any field of endeavour and he has come up with no ideas at all in his presidency. That is Zilch, Nada, ZERO... and Bob Beckel thinks he is a great president?

What I suspect is that a corrupt media will provide cover for the Democrats, while they bring the republic to the brink. If the Republicans are not careful, the Democrats will steal their ideas and claim them as their own. A party with no ideas soon runs out of steam. The Democrat are now maintaining their weakening grasp on power with the most vile slander imaginable. How does a party of decency and honour fight such an evil and corrupt machine. Do the Republicans need to resort to Alinsky style tactics against the Democrats? Do they need to get into the sewers to fight Democrats? The Republicans must come up with a strategy to win and they must want to win or the whole world will go down into an even greater Depression than the 30s.
Sarah Palin represents all that is GOOD in America. As a Canadian, I hope, no pray that Americans recognize this as well and give this wonderful woman a chance to lead American out of the twilight that has descended upon it.

The 'Education' Mantra

My daughter went through the IB program and almost immediately recognized that a lot of the curriculum was shlock and crap (add your euphemism of choice here). She elected to continue, however because it allowed for some university level credits, thereby saving her time. To illustrate, she had an English essay due the next day, but had not started it because of a more important math assignment. In the space of four hours, and despite being a member of the Young Republicans, she wrote a Bush-bashing article that to put it mildly was not one of her best works. She received an A+ and that mark helped exempt her from having to take an English course later at university. When I mildly chastised her for taking shameless advantage of her...

Perhaps it's time for all of us to have another look at Amy Chua's book, "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother" to see what it takes to really get children to achieve. When you start preaching "entitlement" rather than "hard work" as the road to success then you are in a downward spiral from which it is very difficult if not impossible to recover. Let's hope that the United States will cure itself of the entitlement disease before we all go down in flames.

What is happening to the United States? You shut down the missile defense of Eastern Europe in effect selling them out to the Russians, you hand over British military secrets to Putin in exchange for God knows what? and then you refuse to do anything about the vicious murder of four Americans. I could go on and on but you get the idea. The world's perception is that it's becoming rather dangerous to be a friend to America.

If Islam triumphs then it won't matter whether you're on the left or the right. We'll all be forced to convert to Islam or face the firing squad. I suspect that dhimmitude will not be an option.

Snow on Hitler's Parade

The rise of Hitler is a testament to people seeing what they want in a leader rather than looking at the reality. There were certainly plenty of warning signs but they were ignored until it was too late. The result was a tragedy of unimaginable proportions. My father and his brothers as did my mother's brothers all willingly signed up for the Wehrmacht. Out of 7 young men, farm boys really, who went confidently to war, only 2 returned, my father and my uncle. I remember my parents desperately searching and writing to Red Cross for news of what had happened to the other 5. Just before my parents died we received news that one of the brothers was killed in the desperate fighting around Berlin, and just last year, long after my...

I often wonder why American leftists ignore the evidence and continue to push an agenda that is harmful to the interests of the United States. I'm sure we've all have noticed that in response to facts and the cogent arguments based on those facts, socialists always revert to slander and name calling. Herman's response is absolutely typical of the left these days. Present facts and he responds with slander and statements without substantiation. With all the horrors of Communism, Fascism and National Socialism now available for anyone who wants to see, why on earth do these people continue to revile the only person in recent history who actually stood up to tyranny and did something about it. Saddam fed dissidents feet first...
