Wally, the other part is that the President has die-hard supporters, and most of them back his every thought. He STILL has massive support among blacks, and even though his support among libs is waning, there are still plenty of smart folks who It rally around the guy, no matter what he says or does.... and they KNOW better.... it's mystifying.

He still holds a powerful position and has blindly-loyal and determined supporters, But poor management or networking skills (lucky for us). That charlatan needs to be stopped.

I've spent some time commenting on HP, and have seen that "resentment of the prosperous" on full display - who of us would ever want to see taxes become punitive toward ANY American? Answer- Lots of Libs would, and they promote the idea to each other and anyone who would listen.
This was always a phony war, which had surprising duration. It would be more helpful if the Dems would run on a legitimate issue, but they make poor choices- too bad for them.
We saw this as well. They had their favorites, and didn't hide it. But neither did FNN. Being from VA, i wanted to see Warner ridden out on a rail for voting as a purebred Dem, all the while claiming he was bipartisan. Sadly, the bloodsuckers in Fairfax county won the day.
Wow... of course, it's all pure speculation, but it's a serious commentary by Atkinsson, who knows her industry and is as worthy as anyone to comment on this matter. Your dang right "it's depressing..."

Don't get caught up in some sense of proportion... neither you or I would tolerate indiscriminate lobbing of thousands of missiles into your city. That will only continue until the terrorists are finally stamped out.

You say these are "refugees"? My friend, gullibility must run in your family.

Like most of you, I am highly ticked off that our politicians have been unable to get the border under control - that goes for every one of them - Bush, Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and all the others who have contributed to the current state. The law that is cited, offering refugee status, needs to be changed NOW to state that anyone seeking refugee status will not get it if you're caught sneaking over the border - we are not a lawless nation, and will not tolerate an invasion of illegals, of any size.
Verycold, I agree with your assessment, and worry that raising the min Wage will do damage to low end & entry level workers. I know that Romney understands this- he's a business minded guy, but he also understands that the GOP needs to change a bit, particularly it's tone on a few of these issues. I didn't detect anything in what he said that alarms me - he's not laying out anything specific. And he wants to win an election for a change.
