congratulations to the newtown board of education and parents. they've actually been doing some THINKING, some cause and effect analysis of the various alternative means for protecting the kids. and what they've arrived at is right on.................school resource officers in every school. provides an opportunity for the kids to interact with law enforcement and to learn about them..............maybe develop some respect for what the cops are all about. but most of all..............someone to intervene IMMEDIATELY should something nasty break loose. of course if that happens the battalion of law will also show up eventually, but the resource officer has an opportunity to squelch things right away.

a little common sense goes a long way. congrats to the newtown folk.

obama could help by finding a few $billion to fund the sro's..........heck he s spent $trillions more in the last four years than the government has taken in. surely there s some $$ to help protect the kids.
