In FL - you do have a Live Fire portion to the training (I got my CCW permit in FL) - and my husband made certain I had already trained me in target practice so I had familiarity with the weapon. While I worked at the Space Center, we were given training in how to protect ourselves from "Office violence" (a disgruntled co-worker sneaks in a gun and starts shooting at us since guns are prohibited on KSC and JSC in Houston) - which included throwing staplers at the gun-wielder. In the cubicle world in my office, 7 of us had carry permits - but the administration disarmed us and wanted us to throw staplers and books at someone throwing lead in our direction - complete nonsense.

One student’s fight to allow concealed carry permit holders to exercise that right on campus has spread to over 350 colleges and universities nationwide.
