on something of a sidebar: I worked at Kennedy Space Center and just before my retirement, a shooter had gotten into our sister center at Johnson Space Center and managed to kill a few people. There were 8 individuals in my cubicle at KSC - 7 of us had carry permits and 4 had previous military experience - one was a former gunnery sergeant, another was a Army Colonel, most notably. We hurt ourselves laughing at the printed version of the Options they sent to us from HS...we thought that throwing lead back at the guy would be more effective. But, both KSC and JSC are "gun-free" zones.
