This column gets more wrong than right. The CCSS are voluntary. I don't even get the Communist Core comment. It is like he is reviewing a book he has not read. Loraine Hansberry is recommended reading and she was communist, and Orwell is also recommended he tended toward socialism but against statism. But I am trying to make a case for Ransom. There just isn't much there there.

There voluntary like Blowbama Care is voluntary. The Federal Governments definition of 'voluntary' is very different from most people's. I have looked at this Common Core BS, and it is a Marxist program through and through. Of course a far left idiots such as you would NEVER admit that as you think Communisim is so great.

Yes, with your clear citation of evidence I see you are correct that it is communism (sarcasm).

Hey, Bucko, who are these standards voluntary for? The Several States? Sure, if they don't want their "fair" share of Federal education monies. Voluntary for parents? Nuh-uh. Can I go to the high school and tell them I don't them spending my tax dollars on this Common Claptrap or shoving it down my child's throat? Nuh-uh. Voluntary for whom?

Have you actually studied the intended curriculum? I don't think so. I have because I have skin in this game, namely, my child.

You must not have any children. I hope not, as your kind should not procreate.

Well my state took one look at Common Core and decided it would be a set-back for the students of Virginia. Even the promised new magic dollars out of D.C. could not hide the flaws of this lousy set of "standards". The sooner that all parents have vouchers the better.

And VA is pretty good in state to state comparisons.
But states who have done better than VA have volunteered to try them.
So good argument, but has its flaws.

Prepare ye the way of the Common Core. And then the Word will be made Fed. And Obama will dwell amongst us forever. Amen. -- From the Book of Common Core

Prepare for the final federalization of primary education in the USA- hereafter known as Common Core- and don’t worry so much about relics written by old, white men like the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. The Tenth Amendment only helps ensure local control of those things like education policy. It only ensures that we have a big, diverse, vibrant country full...
