Back in the 70's I had an employee who felt redistribution was the answer--my comment to her then was "OK--you will give me 40 hours per week and earn X. Your portion to give others is X. After you have met your salary, I will give the rest of your earnings, while you continue working, to those who are not working. She did not like my response. Notice I did not use the word "welfare".
