Mr. Marchant, you are correct that things need to change and we need to eliminate uncertainty regarding taxes so people and businesses can confidently plan for the future. The only solution that untaxes our exports, brings jobs back to the U.S., and untaxes the working poor is the FairTax (see http://www.FairTax.org/ for details). Keeping the graduated income tax, even is simplified, is like mowing the weeds instead of pulling them out. Fundamentax tax reform means having the courage to remove the weeds blocking growth of our economy. Pull it out by the roots and send tax lobbyists looking for productive work rather than building tax loopholes for their clients. We're ready, are you?
Romney has warts. Few of these will grow without support from Congress. The bigger issue is Federal Judge appointments, which will last decades and may determine Supreme Court philosophy, too. For the other issues, make sure there are principled leaders in the House and Senate. They have to find a way to deal with entitlement spending in a very difficult economic environment.
