A straw man is a misrepresentation of an opponent's argument that you create so that you can argue against that phony argument, and in so doing appear to have refuted their case. Since you're arguing against "importing them by the millions, because we must judge people by their individual actions" and since no one has made such an argument, you are making a straw man argument. What is your educational background?

US, During his first 31 months in office, Obama took 61 vacation days. At that same point in their presidencies, George W. Bush had spent 180 days at his ranch (Clinton took only 174 vacation days IN 8 YEARS). And Ronald Reagan had taken 112 vacation days at his ranch. Bush spent $20,000,000 on Air Force One vacation flights in his eight years (including 77 trips to his ranch). And that does not include the cost of hauling around staff, security , etc. every time he left DC. Among recent presidents, Bill Clinton took the least time off in his first 31 months -- 28 days.

shubi, The United States IS weak. Precariously so. Not militarily. We can destroy any nation on earth -- and we certainly should be able to since we spend more than $700 billion a year on "defense", compared to about $150 billion/year for number 2 spender China. We spend as much as the next 14 highest spenders COMBINED. But nations that bankrupt themselves buying arms and spreading troops all over the world, like the Roman, British, and Spanish Empires before us, end up as third-rate powers. We're weak because we are broke. Dead, flat busted. Thank you George Bush and Barack Obama -- only 12 years ago we were in good shape economically.

shubi, We finally agree on something. We lost 58,000 men for nothing. At the same time, the Vietnamese lost more than 1,000,000. They lost more than 45,000 in the Tet offensive alone, and more that 50,000 in the Easter offensive in 1972. I don't think we were all that polite. If we'd nuked them, the country would be uninhabitable and we would not be making money doing business there today. I thought you were a capitalist.

Frank, It's interesting to me how opinions on this board have morphed, and how quickly. Eight weeks ago, Chuck Norris was pounding the drum here for Gingrich. At the same time, Ann Coulter was promoting Romney, and she was excoriated daily as a RINO. And now that Romney is the candidate, someone like you who says they're not excited about Romney is a liberal and a "GD Obama groupie". That kind of intellectual shallowness makes my head spin.
