Their is no law against a private citizen being stupid, ungrateful, or racist. If the officer had immediately handcuffed the citizen in order to ascertain who he was, then I woudl have no issue. The police offier's restrain was admirable. Heperformed very professionaly, in my opinion, until the point where he arrested the professor. He should have diffused the situation by leaving instead of escalating. - But the police officers I've run into would have arrested me much earlier in this situation - and I am not a classical minority.
