Reading political commentary in the New York Times is like trying to go from Coney Island to Brighten Beach by heading west. You won't run out of problems.
How anyone can say Sarah Palin is less qualified than Obama boggles my mind. Of the two she is the only one who had a job that required decisions.

Gridlock is the buzzword now that the elections are over. If you read the New York Times, there is a fear and an anger making the news about gridlock without much analysis about "promoting the general welfare and securing the blessings of liberty". Does it not make sense that the long range goals for this country should be to get as many citizens as possible off of government dependence? The reasons should be obvious. The question is, are we working toward that goal? Although their are as many reasons for voting as their are voters, it is quite evident that a large portion of the voters are not satisfied with conditions. It is being interpreted as primarily due to current conditions as opposed to the long range. It is also quite evident...

Good article. If Americans would except responsibility individually rather than depend upon the government, the domestic problems would be resolved. Don't think it is going to happen very soon. Right now, a politician who advocates this will not get many votes.

Back in the 40's, the Citrus belt extended north of Orlando. In Tampa we had numerous Avocado trees and some Guava and Persimmon bushes. Also Austrailian Pines were rather plentiful. Do you suppose it will ever get
warm enough so that we can grow them there again?

Harsanyi. Wash your mouth out with soap and vote for Her Majesty Sarah. She's no bumpkin but if she were we'd still be much better off than with what we got.
Do your homework.
