wow, Golden Rice will "save millions of lives". It sounds like the best thing since NatureBee bee pollen! But seriously, I think people should understand an important distinction, between the ACTUAL debate over GR, and GM foods in general, and the nonsense in this Prager column. If you want this useless ideology, if you enjoy it as fantasy, fine. But if you want to know reality, If you enjoy knowing what is actually happening in our world, look for better sources. There are many realistic discussions about the risks and benefits.

Enrique......was that you that Prager mentioned on his show a couple of days ago?
Enrique25 Wrote: Feb 28, 2013 12:14 PM
I haven't listened in a long time, what did he say?

Enrique.........Prager was whining about some comments that were posted on another forum regarding another article he had recently written (it appeared that it had just been written this week)....right now I don't recall what the article was about. Anyway, he read one brief, negative comment by a poster. He then said "and here's a post by a guy named Enrique"....he only read a few words....the poster (Enrique) had made reference to Media Matters. At that point, A. Esterin apparently interupted to tell Prager that he has never mentioned M.M at all. This apprently distracted Prager...he didn't go back to the "Enrique" post. If that had been made by you, I wanted to hear what it was

Yes that was indeed me, great catch! I posted a funny story about him at Democratic Underground. I'm so glad it got his attention.

Here's the link to the DU discussion:

Enrique............good stuff..........and the posts that followed were pretty entertaining as well.
The Original King Wrote: Feb 28, 2013 4:52 PM is, of course, the forum that discusses Prager's own articles, so one would think that Prager would pop in here occasionally to see what was being said. And if that is, in fact, the case, he is nothing but a common liar when he insists, on a fairly regular basis that anger, emotion and name calling (among other traits) are exclusive to "the left".

A sad or angry countenance tells, immediately, what kind of attitude you have toward life and others. I hope and pray that I do not cause a frown or scowl to appear on anyone's face. May GOD smile upon you and you upon me!

Last week, Bjorn Lomborg, the widely published Danish professor and director of one of the world's leading environmental think tanks, the Copenhagen Consensus Center, published an article about the Philippines' decision, after 12 years, to allow genetically modified (GM) rice -- "golden rice" -- to be grown and consumed in that country.

The reason for the delay was environmentalist opposition to GM rice; and the reason for the change in Philippine policy was that 4.4 million Filipino children suffer from vitamin A deficiency. That deficiency, Lomborg writes, "according to the World Health Organization, causes 250,000 to 500,000 children to go blind...
