Put simply, Ron Paul is stuck in a time before we were involved in the Middle East and before we were a global economy. It is less his principles that are wrong than his application of them which ignores obvious facts. Ron Paul has a tendency to oversimplify many issues and ignore the important problem of how to do changes. He is valuable as one who names issues but he does not seem to have useable answers. We get the government some of us deserve - speak for yourself, I did not ask for what we have.

"We hold these Truths to be self-evident..." What truths? What has happened to our passion for liberty? I am concerned that we conservatives, instead of making our case as fearless champions of liberty, are too often on the defensive, preoccupied with trying to prove we aren't the demons the left says we are.

In the GOP primary contest, you'll hear one candidate scolding the others for lacking compassion, another demagoguing a rival for advocating essential entitlement reform, and another shaming an opponent for being too wealthy.

Shouldn't our side do a better job of proudly proclaiming our case for what...
