Shotguns are great; especially for a home defense weapon. A couple of suggestions if I may: Buy something like a Mossberg 12 gauge, but with a 'pistol grip' aided by a 'forward grip' on the slide. Much more efficient, not cumbersome as a long shotgun (e.g. around corners, etc.), and if you use something like #4 buckshot, you'll still have the stopping power, but with the advantage of much lower recoil, and won't have to be concerned with the stray pellets going though your drywall and injuring a family member who may be in the adjoining room.

In all the noise caused by the Obama administration's direct assault on the right of every person to keep and bear arms, the essence of the issue has been drowned out. The president and his big-government colleagues want you to believe that only the government can keep you free and safe, so to them, the essence of this debate is about obedience to law.
