Very bad choice on the part of Red Cross. I'm an independent who was a life-long dem, but I was offended when I saw that ad. You simply cannot separate such a message from the politics this close to an election. There are many non-partisan spokespersons who would have been glad to do this. I am positive this will cost them dearly, even more so having seen stats on the vast difference between repubs & dems regarding charitable donations. I'm reminded of the tens of thousands who have destroyed their AARP cards when they too became too political. I'm confident those wishing to help can fins other relief orgs to donate too.

On Friday night, swing-voters across the nation saw a one-minute advertisement paid for by the Red Cross featuring President Barack Obama.

The ad comes on the weekend before the election, and while the Red Cross does unquestionable good for millions of Americans, the choice to run this ad comes noticeably close to a campaign endorsement for President Obama.

Here’s the transcript from the ad:

When a natural disaster strikes, it can leave tens of thousands of families in need of help, and it can also bring out the best in the American people....
