Cal's point about academics wanting to read their own prejudice right back at them from their students is spot on. It wasn't until the third year of my degree that I copped on to this particular charade and stopped being myself. In the modern world you either kiss the lecturer's backside or you get a bad grade. We all know it's wrong but who has the guts to do anything about it?

As for Obama, his lack of experience is becoming painfully obvious - he is a good orator but government policy and his own presidential authority are beginning to drift under his leadership - God bless America!
