So true! Folks are more concerned and nurturing over their pets than their own children! Something is crazy-wrong with this attitude and behavior. We are in our 60's and have traveled the world and this seems to be a thread that runs worldwide. Go figure.

Yes, liberals often seem to care more about animals than about humans. It could be a sort of infantilism - something in other cultures people grow out of, but which liberals in the west cling to into their 'adult' years. Children famously love their hamsters more than other people, and one definition of a liberal is someone who has never entered the realm of adult responsibility.
