This is extremely disturbing, that in order to get a vote, an earmark has to be added to a very controversial bill that affects every citizen in the US. Has anyone read the bill in its entirety that has written a blog in this column? Well, I have (my mind is numbed), and some of the provisions are very disturbing.
Health care co's are ordered to report to the US gvnmt. the SS# of every poicy holder of health care insurance. The IRS will compare it to their data base, and if any tax payer's SS# is not covered. The IRS will send notices and your refund will be used to pay for health care you did not want to get. It is being rammed down our throats.
There is a mind boggling amount of appropiations and bureaucracies being created that...

I was forced to retire at the end of last year because I could not obtain employment. I lost my job and was forced once again to apply for unemployment insurance. When I call the telephone number for the State of California Employment Development Department (EDD), I get a political message that says "President Obama approved an extension for unemployment benefits. It's not his money. It's our taxes that are paying for the extra weeks of unemployment. I thought it was illegal for a government agency to do add campaigns for a political party. I cannot get through to someone that can solve my problem, but the political recording goes on: "President Obama approved and extension...."

To John in Kentucky:
You may think that you may put me in your category of "Stupid Americans", but you are erroneous in your assumptions.
I did read the complete Health Bill HR 3642.
Did you know that your tax return will be confiscated by the IRS if you don't have health insurance? Did you know that you will be fined if you don't get a product that you are forced to buy, whether you want it or not?
Did you know that the states that don't want a bureaucrat agency to watch citizens who have or not have health insurance the federal government will create that agency in the state, then charge the state for its operation? Did you know that the federal government will force a private corporation to report to a federal agency your...

To Mr. Gestell in MA:
Some of the descriptions of liberal in the Oxford Pocket dictionary and thesaurus,(1997) page 456 are:
fair, open-minded, unprejudiced, unselfish, tolerant, relaxed, permissive, lenient, casual independent, among some of the great qualities of being a liberal. Although I am a conservative in my views, I can consider myself a liberal according to the description of Oxford's dictionary.
You on the other hand sirs/madams use insults to denigrate honorable citizens that have served this country with humility and high moral values (Mrs. Sarah Palin & Senator McCain). Mr. McCain fought the communist invaders of North Vietnam so that you can express your views freely and have other inherent rights mentioned in...
