Here is a challenge to progressives everywhere except the droolers at Daily Kos or Democratic Underground. No, I mean the reasonably articulate but invariably wrong ones at the NYT or WAPO or even CNN. Heck, let's even throw in some “independent” voices. Dr. Williams posits a pretty convincing case against the history of progressivism (word?) by pointing out the results of programs designed to make life better for a segment of people. They are not good. Prove to the overwhelmingly conservative people of this forum that he is wrong. Do it without name calling, emotional nonsense, or using the term “racist”. This is probably the toughest rule: Try not to blame George Bush. If you have the stomach, of course.
