Perhaps several of the Republicans who have been consistently backing away from a possible 2012 run would rather bypass the obvious challenges represented by the Obambam personality cult. Defeating the die hard far leftists who the president caters to will be a feat in itself. Given another 4 years in lower federal office or key state positions will provide both experience, track records, and national exposure to some of the newer prominent faces who emerged from the 2010 elections. Some examples: Christie, Ryan, Rubio, Walker... you add your own favorite. In addition, has anyone seen a 'prominent new democrat' in the last few years? Not me. And the list of potential runners in 2012 is skimpy at best. What do they have... BilHillery?...

It's not only a matter of on board range. There are tork and load factors that make diesel the overall best of the fuels. Local is more realistic, but long haul is best on diesel. Big picture folks... that' what is missing in most the 'Green' alternatives! Computer micro studies are fine, but we live in the real world.
