romney is far more palatable to the leftists, the democrats, the autocrats and the totalitarians than any other gop candidate. probably because romney thinks more like a leftist than a conservative. romney is not a man of principles (proven by his resorting to lies and character assassination during the primaries), nor does romney possess intellectual depth. romney is a technician. romney does not have the gift of seeing the big picture. now for the positives, romney will do whatever it takes to beat obama and has a big pile of personal wealth to see the contest to its conclusion.

Most campaigns have a musical theme. Rick Santorum, who "suspended" his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination on Tuesday, might have selected the song "The Impossible Dream."

Santorum's dream seemed improbable, if not impossible, from the start. He lost his last Senate race and had been out of office -- and out of mind -- for the last few years; not exactly a platform on which one usually runs for president.
