Doubtful. Those on the right don't have the guts to pull off such a coup.
That's the difference between the left and the right: guts.

ObamaCare was wildly unpopular. But neither Obama nor his supporters backed away from it. They pushed till it became law of the land.
Gay marriage was voted down by the voters 32 times. THIRTY TWO times! But again, the left didn't back down---they pushed and pushed and in this last election it was finally passed by voters in three states.
In 2010, the Tea Party handed a shellacking to the left...but did the left change even one ideal? Did they "get the message?" No. They stuck to their guns and won in 2012.

Now compare all that to the GOP---who is looking to overhaul their party due to their recent loss.

I for one don't believe that Romney lost the middle class vote. I believe he won middle class voters. When you realize that the middle of the country, the most middle class people of all, voted for Romney, and that Obama won in urban, liberal coastal areas - specifically liberal, very rich or very poor, it makes sense - the middle class is disappearing rapidly, and is now the minority.GOP will need to demonstrate how conservative ideas benefit the poor.

Reagan signed the first amnesty bill. Obama only backs groups he hopes will vote for him. He is buying votes with the taxpayers money and using this against us. Such a sham! The Dems have figured out all you need to win is buy votes.
The unions help them with that. Cozy little arrangement. Obamacare will slow our economy and more people will lose jobs or have their hours cut. The middle class is going to be paying more in taxes too even though Obama said he is for the middle class and wants to help them. Read up on socialism. There is no middle class, only the poor and the elites!

For another example of the Dem's not backing down, Read Ayn Rand's Essay "The Rights of Man". It contains thye Dem's 1960 platform. It's taken 50 years but they stuck with it til it was accomplished. Just google "The Rights of Man"

He is taking a deep breath as we type.

Politicians claim they make our lives better by passing laws. But laws rarely improve life. They go wrong. Unintended consequences are inevitable.

Most voters don't pay enough attention to notice. They read headlines. They watch the Rose Garden signing ceremonies and hear the pundits declare that progress was made. Bipartisanship! Something got done. We assume a problem was solved.

Intuition tells us that government is in the problem-solving business, and so the more laws passed, the better off we are. The possibility that fewer laws could leave us better off is hard to grasp. Kids visiting Washington don't...
