My goodness Rose. We can tell you are from California. For a while I thought you were being satirical, but apparently you really do believe that the federal government does something useful and that elected representatives are important people.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but the reason our civilization is headed for total collapse is because we have a federal government, an entity that the Constitution regards as not really necessary for very much.

The important thing to bear in mind is that Obama is not unique in his arrogance and arrogance is not just for powerful people or people delusional about their intelligence. The poor are even capable of arrogance. The whole of human history is just the recreation of a single drama first acted out in the Garden of Eden, the first temptation to Adam and Eve, the original sin, You shall be as Gods. (Relax religion haters out there, take it as allegory and metaphor.)

Human pride will always prefer to deny the reality that personal evil can and does exist in everyone. Often we prefer to believe that the human race is divided between the good enlightened people and the evil people (even many conservatives do this).

Human pride...

Degenerate Obama did implicitly accuse the white policeman of racism by characterizing his motivation as an inappropriate act of applying racial profiling.

As to the “long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately,” it is a fact that they are not stopped disproportionately in relation to actual crimes committed. They are only stopped in proportion to actual crime rates. The indisputably higher rate of crime among African-Americans and Latinos would necessitate more frequent investigations of possible suspicious behavior.

You obviously did not so much as read the article if you would associate what happened at Tuskeegee as a practice that would be sponsored by Christians rather than the anti-Christian secularists who were promoting, without irony, value-free value judgments and who actually did perform the experiments.

There is not a single claim, historical or theological, you have made against the Catholic faith with any truth at all to it. If you would ever desire to develop enough honorability to overcome comic book history, I would recommend Thomas Woods, “How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization.”

With all your condescension, you may want to explore the assumptions behind your own misinformation. Limbaugh’s remark about McNabb was entirely anti-racist. His observation on the desire of the NFL to cynically broaden their audience by promoting race-based success measurements was entirely accurate.

As for McCarthy’s fantasies please explain why when the collapse of Communism opened files of not only internal Soviet spy documents but also gave the FBI, CIA, and American scholars access to files of the American Communist Party held in Russia, the information vindicated almost every charge McCarthy made. Of the thousands the documents exposed, long promoted as innocent martyrs, were Alger Hiss, the number three man at the State...
Sam, get your history straight before issuing a condescending lecture on American history to anyone else. The fact that there were individual episodes of intolerance prior to your fantasy of its being addressed for the first time in the 1950s does not undo the historical reality that there were many more episodes of America debating and arguing with itself, formally, in foundational assemblies, and informally, in every home in America, among a people not as ignorant of history as those who are today immersed contemporary revisionism. Jews and Catholics were in America from the beginning and participated in helping to create a vision of a civilization where religion could thrive for the very cultivation of civilized values.

The anti-Semitic remarks are of course deplorable. But your assumption that a businessman is by nature a non-liberal is wrong. Neither is it the case that conservatives hold economic freedom to be a social ideal. We treat it as a pragmatic necessity that can be frequently corrupt but much less corrupt than a state run economy.

Authentic conservatives hold to principles like innate truth, natural law, and original sin. The last doesn’t have to be understood religiously but merely as a statement of the inherent corruption and imperfectability of the human condition. We do not hate the poor. We do admire the Mother Theresas of the world. And we do not fail to note the shoddy ethics of business people any more than many street thugs...

How would a failure to observe native dress from other cultures, modest in comparison to many of today’s teens, preclude taking offense at an entertainment business, historically geared towards family entertainment, now engaged in promoting promiscuity? How would it justify calling others ignorant who do not share your assumptions?

You could not be more mistaken in your assumption. A belief in freedom in opposition to government social engineering is not only a recognition of the imperfectability of the human condition but a recognition that when government seeks to “change” people it always makes matters worse. Human nature cannot be changed.
People are not perfected by freedom, but they are left in a condition where it is easier to be a decent human being with freedom. The fact that evilness will still exist does not constitute a justification for government action. It constitutes a call for people to act courageously at a personal level in helping to reform the sinner.
