Distinguishing between those who have adapted to their own form of reformation and those who are only appearing so is difficult. It seems to me the fanatics are a minority group that has succeeded in both intimidating the majority and achieving acceptance as the spokespeople for all 2 billion+. Rationality is not a major factor. Since 1% of 2 billion is 20 million, a small percentage of , vocal, trained activists can achieve the above and get a significant number to believe all the problems they face, societal, financial, and educational are the fault of infidels - especially those who put uppity ideas into females.

They did not applaud the assailant or excuse his motives. Instead, they condemned the attack and upheld Hedegaard's freedom to preach unhinged bigotry.
