A VP misspelling potato brings an end to civilization as we know it. A presidential candidate stating he's been to 57 states is just an irrelevant error. The MSM holds Republicans to higher standards because they can meet them but it is not racist, by definition, to hold Democrats to standards of a miniscule level - about the level of awarding stars for wearing socks and tying shoe laces.

Actually, Ed, the VP misspelled potato because the kid misspelled it. Quayle didn't want to embarrass her in front of everyone. He was showing compassion.

The VP was using the official spelling card given him by one of the officials of the spelling bee. the card had it misspelled.
