As one who works daily with PowerPoint, I nearly fell out of my chair reading this. From laughing, not falling asleep :).

Republican Show-and-Tell

Let's take the 50,000 foot view. The long range need is to reform the tax code, reform entitlements (Oh, how I hatye that word!), reduce government spending, restore governemnt to its Constitutional boundaries, and repeal Obamacare. None of this happens unless there is a conservative, read Republican, majority in the House and Senate and A Republican in the White House. Anything that happens now that makes it more likely that Obama will be re-elected stops these necessary actions. So, principles of politics? You cannot fight for your principles if you are shut out of political power. While Mitch McConnel may be reading his stage directions, as Jonah suggests, he is telling us what must happen if we want to truely tackle these issues....

The "Innocence Snuff Film"

Sorry, it's gratuitous. While I have not, and will not, see this film, I bet the impact would be just as powerful if it impied the rape but did not show it occurring.
Careful Ann, your intolerance is showing. Your comments regarding Ron Paul's remarks are somewhat distorted and disengenuous (sp?). He said nothing about government registering marriges, or regulating adoption. Contractual marriage would still provide for child support and custody ajudication (sp?). His point, conveniently missed by you, is that we should not need government permission to marry. Two responsible adults should be able to enter into a domestic contract designed to provide for all the situations you say will end up in chaos without a government marrige license. Ever heard opf common law marrige? Come on Ann, either you are for individual liberty or government control.
