Mr. Ransom, you are right and I'm looking in the same direction. In the meantime, however, I think the American people, especially that portion that voted for Barack Obama, need and deserve a lesson in economic reality. To that end, I call upon the Republican House to not only go along with Obama, but to exceed him and I mean big time. Tell the people that you are doing what they voted for. The economic collapse will be tough on us all, but we can rise from it. The slow decline continuing is what we cannot survive.

Sounds good but the congress must represent their constituatnts that voted for them and oath they took.

That stated, I realize that the president will blame congress if things get worse. It would be good political strategy to get out of the way and let the country self destruct, but the blood would be on our hands.

Since when has the congress done that?
Is a slow lingering death that saps the life force better than a quick blow? The object is to rise again. Look to the depression of 1920 and how we recovered from it. Which is better: blood on our hands or rot on our hands?

How will it be on the hands of the HOuse. They would be compromising in a bipartisan way. Of course, the media will paint it as republican obstruction no matter how the House acts.

I like that. Let's accelerate the decline to Greece and get it over so we can rise from the ashes sooner than later

"I want to live for immortality, and I will accept no compromise." In the same way, if he had decided that God and immortality did not exist, he would at once have become an atheist and a socialist. For socialism is not merely the labor question, it is before all things the atheistic question, the question of the form taken by atheism to-day, the question of the tower of Babel built without God, not to mount to heaven from earth but to set up heaven on earth. - Fyodor Dostoevsky, Brothers Karamazov
