Andrea Mitchell Corrects Guest Who Called Herself "Pro-Life": "Anti-Abortion Is More Value-Neutral"

I am anti-abortion and I don't object to being called anti-abortion; those on the other side are pro-abortion and should not object to being called pro-abortion.

Yes, but they do object to it. I almost lost a job a long time ago for merely pointing out that it is dishonest for the media to use the term "pro-choice" for those who support the legality of abortion on demand yet "anti-abortion" for those who refer to themselves as "pro-life." Pro-abortion should be paired with anti-abortion, and if you're going to use the term "pro-choice," the opposite term "pro-life" should be it's counterpart.

Wouldn't "pro-death" be closer to what they really want the outcome to be?

Can't disagree with you, either.

The way the folks at Planned Parenthood are crowing and high-fiving over their record year, we know that there's such a thing as being "pro-abortion". Also look at the flaming feminist blogs about how deeply and profoundly they resent having to hand wring over the "tragedy of abortion". They don't give a damn about it being rare, only about removing the stigma.

Let's get real about this...those who choose the label "pro-choice" are really pro-choice--they aren't in favor of abortions, they're in favor of a woman's right to choose one if she believes that's the right choice for her. So 'pro-choice" is the right label there. On the other side, those who call themselves pro-life are that, but they're also anti-abortion and anti-choice--they don't want women to have abortions, and they don't want women to have that choice. So, the parallel pair of labels that would be most accurate and honest would be pro-choice and anti-choice.

I don't support killing abortionists, I'm just pro choice, Bruce.
The dead baby doesn't know any difference between pro-choice and pro-abortion. Both are quite willing that it be dead.

BTW, Bruce, have you ever heard of Francois De La Rochefaucauld?

teh stupid is strong in this Dolt!

My (rhetorical) question is this: Why would a pro-abortion--or, "pro-choice" if you're looking for something more value neutral--advocate like Andrea Mitchell want the issue of life and death to be "value-neutral"?

Here's a little nugget I came across today from Pastor John MacArthur: "They keep saying, 'A school is supposed to be a safe place!' Yeah well so is a womb."
