As far as I'm concerned the mission of The Church is to preach The Word (Law and Gospel) and administer The Sacraments (Holy Baptism and Communion). It is not to teach CCW courses! This comes from a heat packin Michigan CCW holder and gun lover!

I am a Law and Gospel preacher and as the outreach pastor I love the idea that some of our law enforcement men/members could use their training to help others and establish stronger relationships in our church and community. I know some of my pastor buddies who drink beers in bars to foster community relationships but think this is a more productive, never mind a more 'manly', opportunity!

By offering these classes at a church you are forgetting one minor detail. That minor detail is that it is all about Jesus! Things like these distract from what it is all about. It's all about Jesus! That is what the Bible is all about from cover to cover! JESUS!
