We did-over 200 years ago. And over that period since, everyone here came from somewhere else-because America was the ONLY country in the world where they would have an opportunity (key word) to realize their dreams. No guarantees, no safety nets, no handouts, just the chance to realize rewards for their work. European, Asian, African, Slavic-we came from everywhere, and made a life. Some did better than others, and at no time was that considered a bad thing-until now. Suddenly to be successful is bad, and was accomplished at the detriment of others? Makes no sense.

Governor Mitt Romney's choice of Congressman Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential running mate is one of those decisions that seem obvious -- if not inevitable -- in retrospect, even though it was by no means obvious to most of us beforehand.
