people who collect a government check for their income, dont really pay taxes in the aggregate. We could just eliminate their taxes and adjust their pay down accordingly, eliminating the middle man and cutting out more accounting departments in the government, saving us money. Priivate sector employees actually lose money from their income when the government takes it. If we elimated govt. employees taxes and just reduced their salary, their take home pay would be the same, and the government's net revenue would also not change. That's not true for the relationship between government and the private sector.
