Just to add a couple things to my last post. I have read and heard countless stories of how many immigrants in the late 1800's and early 1900's came to this country and wanted to be Americans. They changed their name, worked their butt off, ASSIMILATED.
I generally don't see that from too many Hispanics. The majority? Of course not. I won't say that much. Most are good people who work hard but not strong Americans. It's too many. And to simply dismiss that is wrong.
I'm not going to redefine what it means to be American for each new immigration wave into our country. It's a serious issue as Hispanics are an enormous segment of our population (I am Hispanic). I don't think lukewarm feelings about our...

Hispanics are traditionally Catholic/Christian. They love God and family and have shown themselves to be fighters in America's wars and elsewhere in history. Also, many know of the horrendous abuses and anti-clericalism against the Church in places like Mexico and Spain. Now while I won't say Democrats are at that level yet, I will say they are a party that suppresses religion, doesn't defend the unborn, and strikes out at the dignity of a man to be a man and provide for his family and himself.
