Jeff_G, Many of the threats to liberty have precipitated from the drug war. For example, asset forfeiture and unreasonable searches.

I thought it was a pretty good read myself, except she should have brought it around to say it a lot like the people that are scared to death of 'terrorist" attacks. People have a very irrational fear of that too.

Modern testing labs would prevent the problems of the past with snake oil. Organizations similar to way Underwriters Laboratory establishes electrical safety would evaluate products.

It would really be nice to get some if not all of the drugs available off the shelf. I got a lot of my medical needs figured out at this point and don't really need a doctor to prescribe them. I bet we would get some educational commercials and 'word of mouth' on what worked or doesn't.

And the way it is now if a business get sued they can then put up the defense that they met FDA requirements. No FDA would result in the businesses having even more reason to do quality testing.
So republicans are at fault for poor Secret Service performance? The government was spending money like drunken democrats under Bush so we needed more stimulus? It was government policies of both parties that precipitated the housing collapse. Can you really place the blame for all failed government programs on republicans? Government programs will always subverted by those with a personal gain to be made either in its first writing or in the implementations or changes afterwards.

The Challenge: Pornography Pandemic

While I've never watched my 7 year old daughter viewing pornography ( I don't think she has, it is really more of boy or man's thing) she has watched Bones, CSI, championship wrestling, infomercials and all the other shows that depict something in a less than accurate fashion. I find them distasteful and, similar to pornography, they don't show 'normal' living. But, it gives me a chance to talk about it with her and she knows at this point that everything you see on TV is not what is seems and it is the same message I would tell her if she viewed some pornography. I prefer a world without censorship so that things can be discussed openly.

Are you guys volunteering your son or daughter to go die for this? Have you sent in a extra payment to the IRS to help pay for it?

amk, you are correct. It is a problem for personal freedom lovers.
The history of earth is that animals have benefited from a warm climate and declined in a cold climate. Not much of a food chain if all there is is ice.
