Confirmed: Obama Made No Calls, Took No Action During Benghazi Attack

I despise Oboma yet I don't understand this article. No President can be everywhere all the time. First of all it takes a while to figure out what's going on. Then we have a chain of command which takes time. We could not have got assets there in time to lead to anything more than more Americans losing their lives. This is not an Obama or Bush thing. If I was President I would order a retaliatory strike that took out several 1000 locals. Elect me. I won't be able to stop this stuff but I will get revenge. Plus I will add jobs to replace the hardware used.

"During the entire attack, the president of the United States never picked up the phone to put the weight of his office in the mix,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, who had held up Mr. Obama’s defense secretary nominee to force the information to be released. Mr. Graham said that if Mr. Obama had picked up the phone, at least two of the Americans killed in the attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi might still be alive because he might have been able to push U.S. aid to get to the scene faster. "

So during the seven hours, is it your opinion that Graham was wrong and Obama could not have had any influence on the situation?

This is nonsense. They had WEEKS worth of warnings - the British pulled all their people out the week before due to credible threats of violence. Plus, Stephens and others had been asking for extra help and security for MONTHS prior, and were repeatedly denied. They did nothing during the attack when they could've and should've.

Then, afterwards, they blamed it on a Youtube video that nobody had ever seen - for weeks they spun that story. Your post is pathetic.

There is a long-established system to ensure the president is informed IMMEDIATELY of an attack on US interests overseas. When your diplomatic facility is being overrun and your people being shot at, there is absolutely no excuse for not getting on the case IMMEDIATELY. This is prima facie incompetence of the grossest sort, compounded by a lying coverup of the grossest sort. If a Republican had committed it, he would have been driven from office even before the election.

7 hrs is not enought time?

Last week, Lindsey Graham's unrelenting line of questioning compelled Defense Secretary Leon Panetta to confirm under oath that not a single military asset was deployed to help rescue besieged US personnel in the course of a terrorist raid in Benghazi, Libya.  The September 11, 2012 attack lasted nearly eight hours, during which four Americans died, including our sitting ambassador.  Multiple requests for increased security in the weeks and months leading up to the massacre were denied.  Urgent warnings that the Benghazi consulate couldn't withstand a...
