There was no judicial tyranny here. There WAS however, tyranny by a majority in contradiction to Constitutional protections from such a thing. Prop. 8 is one such violation, and it's being used to enshrine discrimination against a specific minority as well. The case was lost on lack of evidence, facts and the proof that 8 is an animus based law that protects nothing. READ the transcripts and you'd know that. It was 8's defenders that kept that trial from public view, claiming such public exposure would make them a target. What BS, since they were all over the country making public appearances. But since a court requires the truth, that's when they got all shy about it. No case, no evidence, no RATIONAL basis to uphold such bad law.

Next week voters in Maine, Maryland and Washington will vote on whether to redefine marriage to include same-sex couples.

Given that there are good people on both sides of this issue, how are we to explain their opposing views?

The primary explanation is this: Proponents and opponents ask two different questions.

Proponents of same-sex marriage ask: Is keeping the definition of marriage as man-woman fair to gays? Opponents of same-sex marriage ask: Is same-sex marriage good for society?

Few on either side honestly address the question of the other side. Opponents of same-sex marriage rarely acknowledge...
