Community organizing never ends even when your the Prez.
There aren't any provisions in the entire Obamacare law that states you can keep your doctor or insurance company. Indeed, it was designed to destroy the medical monopoly over patient care and the health insurance industry that pays for medical care. Both will be replaced by a public option of rationing and end of life assistance for aged and critically ill patients through an independent advisory panel.
But still not any White House Tours until the Republicans cave on the Sequester entirely.
How far into Monday will we get before he does the Cory Booker two-step backwards?
Filibuster is a grand idea. It will force vulnerable Dems to vote for something that has a real potential to destroy their re-election bid in November, 2014. (If Obamacare hasn't already blasted away any chance they had to keep control of the Senate). Progressives need to face voters instead of hiding behind Harry Reid's procedural petticoats. They have to run for re-election on a budget that never balances, Obamacare that doesn't work and now gun control that most voters don't want.
I hope Mayor Bloomberg and President Obama are very successful in their campaign to get the Democrats to vote for gun control. Combined with the now inevitable backlash from implementation of Obamacare during 2014, passage of comprehensive gun control would pretty much assure super-majorities for Republicans in the House and Senate in the mid-term elections.
Why is it Democrats are reported as evolving on same sex marriage but Republicans as pandering? So many mysteries. So little time to unravel them.
Mr. Perez gave a truthful, yet lawyer's answer. He was asked a specific question. Was any "Political Leadership" involved in the decision? The answer was true because Loretta King and with Steve Rosenbaum were (ostensibly) career Justice Department employees not appointed by the Obama administration (though. let's be clear both are Progressives). Thus, decisions made (even if they consulted with the President and Eric Holder) weren't made by Political Leadership. They were made by Loretta King, a career Justice Department lawyer.
