Interesting: Paul the Younger Endorses Mitch McConnell

It sure didn't take long for Paul to cover Mitch's back. I am so sick of people saying one thing and doing another. Mitch is a RINO. I had thought (apparently wrongly so) that Paul was the shot in the arm our party needed. It seems when they get into the big boys club, they just watch out for each other. I have always said we need a true conservative to primary McConnell. I guess that's not going to happen now. When will our party leaders learn? Only when we get rid of them and put people in who reflect our conservative values.

I know McConnell is no Tea Partier, but I have the impression he isn't liberal enough to be a RINO. I know he's a comfortable creature of Washington, and you probably hate him more for that. And if you're suggesting Rand Paul has been corrupted, you're being ridiculous. Paul doesn't want the Democrats to win McConnell's seat, and is that so wrong?

I think it's more McConnell's appearance and demeanor that makes people unenthusiatic about him. I don't know that much about his voting record, but he comes off as a pasty-faced old man who would be comfortable as someone's bookkeeper.

This sort of announcement came a bit earlier than most people probably expected, but it nonetheless confirms the political alliance between the Tea Party firebrand and the Senate Minority Leader is as strong as ever (via Ed Morrissey):

The Daily Caller has learned that Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul is endorsing Sen. Mitch McConnell for re-election in 2014, ending speculation that Paul would back a tea party challenge to the Senate minority leader.

“Rand Paul has endorsed McConnell,” Jesse Benton, McConnell’s 2014 campaign manager, told The Daily Caller.

Benton, who has worked for both Rand Paul and...
