Lincoln was against slavery. He not only wanted to free all African slaves, he also wanted to restore them to their heritage. His plan was to return them to Africa. Only 2 ships carrying freed Slaves actually made the voyage before Lincoln was assassinated.
Just curious; who is being intimidated? Every criminal in the area should cut out and keep the list. In these homes, a perp could get killed trying to steal something. Act polite around these homes. Smile and wave. Have a happy day!

For my part, I value individual freedom more than being governed from a distance by people that don't represent the population I live in. - - kind of like residents of 13 small colonies a couple of centuries ago.

After secession (and maybe during the process of seceding) states would naturally enter into international pacts with each other, with the remaining union and with other nations. Military, trade, travel and other agreements might be very similar to or very different from current state/federal and state/state relations. It could work out well for everyone.
