'Gun Culture' -- What About the 'Fatherless Culture'?

Excellent and astute article, Larry; I'm sure Dr. Cosby would agree, as do I. But I would add to the issue of fatherlessness the disdain for education that many young black men have, regarding it as a white man's tool. Until the issue of 'thug culture' is addressed, many more young black men will be killed. These young men need to learn that pimping and dealing drugs is not a superior lifestyle to getting an education and contributing to society. No more 'trophy kids' in the 'hood.

Since 1966, there have been 90 school shootings in the U.S., with 231 fatalities. Yes, Sandy Hook shocked us. But the odds of a child being killed at a school shooting are longer than the odds of being struck by lightning.

Of the 11,000 to 12,000 gun murders each...
