In response to:

New York Passed a Gun Control Law So They Could See What Was in It

Wouldn't it be refreshing if our legislators met for one brief period every two years, during which they would spend half of the time working on the budget, and the other half of the time repealing old/outdated laws? Perhaps at some point we will all be able to agree that we are governed by quite enough laws already, and prohibit the creation of new ones.

As lovely as that thought is Drifter it won't happen. The decent people who get to Congress are swiftly corrupted by the power & perks unless "We the People" keep them on a tight leash & the progressive humanists who make it to Congress feel they must pass laws to govern us "for our own good".
This is true of progressives on both sides of the aisle.

Too true, that.

This is why the constitution was written as a limiting device upon government. And of course, politicians don't like to be limited. Especially totalitarian despot politicians.

Earlier this week, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo rushed to sign sweeping and extremely restrictive gun control legislation into law. Negotiations were made behind closed doors in the middle of the night, debate was rushed, public input was ignored and the votes were taken. The legislation that was passed only allows New York residents to carry seven bullets in a maximum ten round magazine at a time and requires gun registration. The problem? Cuomo didn't read the bill and failed to notice legislators forgot to exempt law enforcement.

A troubling oversight has been found within New York...
