And while I'm at it, isn't it interesting how Matthews smears the entire political right as the "Grand Wizard Crowd..."? ...Oh, wait: what about one Robert C. Byrd, the deceased (and detestable) senator from West Virginia? --He actually WAS a "Grand Wizard" (or was it "Cleegle"?)--so once again the left is engaged in PROJECTION: it is the left that has "a past" with the Klan, not the right. Truth. The klan was started by southern democrats. the klan was supported by democrats. democrats as a majority voted against civil rights legislation. Yet they now own the negro vote. Go figure.

This isn’t the first time the elite media has tried to associate the Republican Party with the Ku Klux Klan. (Remember when ‘Meet the Press’ host David Gregory made similar comments about the GOP base last fall, for which he later apologized?) In any case, Chris Matthews’ comments yesterday were deeply offensive. And last I checked, while he did walk back his remarks (I reviewed the full transcript), he has yet to publicly apologize for...
