In response to:

A Third Party

I call for the immediate resignation of Reince Priebus, RNC Chair, and the entire upper tier of the stodgy, republican cabal. I call for John Boehner to step aside as Speaker of the House--he is merely a politician & clearly not up to the task before him. And next time around, the RNC and the "old boy" elitist republican crowd would be well-advised to not torpedo every conservative on the primary ticket. These elitists have a great track record of nominating "safe" candidates, but a terrible record of seeing their candidate actually WIN. Enough already. Note to RNC: Over 3 million republicans did not vote for your "safe" candidate. Do that again next time and I'm with them--I will never again hold my nose and vote for the RINO.

During the Q & A section of my speech to the Chamber group here last night, someone asked what I thought about the concept of a third party to counter the influence of the right wing of the Republican Party.

If there were a true independent third party in the U.S. House and Senate of, say, 10 percent of the membership that would mean 43 Members in the House and 10 Senators.

It is unlikely that either Republicans or Democrats would have enough votes to organize either Chamber without the buy-in of the independents.

Or, put another way,...
