". . . and strength, and your whole soul; and if ye do this ye shall in nowise be cast out." Disagree with the LDS faith if you wish, you are certainly entitled. But at least try to be honest about it.

I find it impossible to believe Guy when he says that he has read the Book of Mormon since he also says that based upon his reading, the LDS faith ". . . upheld Jesus as a great but misquoted teacher, rejecting his essence as being God." If he HAD read the Book of Mormon, he would have read this: "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins. . . . And now behold, I say unto you that the right way is to believe in Christ, and deny him not; and Christ is the Holy One of Israel; wherefore ye must bow down before him, and worship him with all your might, mind, . . ."

Who Are the Real Religious Bigots?

Ruth's comment proves that religious bigotry is by no means limited to the New York Times, or to the left of the political spectrum.
Before passing on talking points, perhaps liberals should bother looking at the bill itself.

Section 246, which is quoted several times above, does not make illegal aliens ineligible for public health care. It only makes them ineligible for "affordability credits" which can be used to help pay for private insurance.

Read it. It's here:

Defending Chief Justice Roberts

As Justice Frankfurter wrote, "Wisdom too often never comes, and so ought not be rejected, merely because it comes Late."

Upholding McCain-Feingold was one of the absolute worst decisions the US Supreme Court has ever made, and that's saying some. The opportunity to fix that mistake should not be missed.

I also believe McCain-Feingold was a major factor in McCain's defeat, which got us Obama.

Just my opinion . . .
